The voice of independent Melbourne fashion

FashLab began in 2020 from a shared need for an honest place to talk. There was no agenda and no speakers – just a group of fashion practitioners who understood the industry and wanted to work through its questions together.

Since then, FashLab has grown into a community of over 250 practitioners across Victoria – designers, makers, stylists, editors, producers and the businesses built around them. In 2025, we became a formally incorporated association under Victorian law, which means real governance, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the people in this community.

What hasn’t changed is the intention. Every meetup still runs on the same principle: honest conversation, peer knowledge, and an agreed code of trust and discretion. Just people talking.
