For the next generation of fashion creatives.
The Voxfrock Rookie Crew is a mentorship programme for tertiary graduates in journalism, photography and related fields who want to report and document fashion as the complex, inspiring industry it is.
The Details
- Open to tertiary graduates in journalism, photography and related disciplines
- Practical, industry-based programme
- Covers Melbourne Fashion Week and The Melbourne Fashion Festival
- 2026 programme details to be confirmed soon
Rookies are mentored by people who have spent careers doing exactly this work. Veteran fashion journalist and editor Janice Breen Burns guides the journalism strand; legendary Vogue Australia photographer Monty Coles (adjunct professor of photography, RMIT) mentors the photography strand.
Each Rookies crew covers Melbourne Fashion Week and festivals under close supervision — real work, publication, mentorship. The programme has now run for six consecutive years, and the alumni are already making their mark.
